Seth and the Intervention Band is the Boston-based group that crafted Recovery Steps specifically for people struggling with addictions. This music is meant to be much more than a "good listen". It is about the struggles that we all go through on a daily basis, and points us to the power that is greater than ourselves - a loving God. The album features 12 songs - one for each step of the AA program - with titles like "Admission" and "One Day at a Time."
The band is fronted by Seth Andreson, the worship pastor of the Vineyard Christian Fellowship of the South Shore, a church in Kingston. He provides the vocals and plays acoustic guitar. His younger brother, Gabe, plays the drums, with Steve Bento on electric guitar and Thomas Bouchard on bass.
Marc Larrey, a Berklee graduate, is the senior member of the band. Originally from the Cape, and playing in performance bands for over 20 years, Marc contributed brilliant guitar work to the project.
Andreson says this about Recovery Steps: "We're regular guys that strive to provide great music that helps people stay clean and sober. Our desire is also to help people connect with God through our music. Listening to people's unique stories of how they came to be sober is a tremendous privilege. We want to celebrate sobriety with them."
Simply stated, this music is a tool that encourages the listener in a unique way that is free of "preachy" judgement.
In the words of a friend, "Late at night which is my dangerous time, I put this cd in my player and it drives the urge to drink right out of me".
